Murphy NC 28906 - A growing community with small town charm

Hello all.  Having just moved to the area, I don't really know anyone here.  I joined this website in the hopes that I could locate a playgroup for my daughter, who is 2 1/2.  She is an only child, so getting her the socialization she wants and needs is very important.

If anyone knows of a playgroup, or of anything else to entertain a child her age, please fill me in!  I look forward to hearing your responses.

Hi, Kerri,

I really don't know anything about playgroups for two-year-olds, but perhaps some of our other members do.

Which part of Murphy are you located in and do you want to find a playgroup close to home, or anywhere in the Murphy area?

There is a nice playground across from Konehete park, next to the swimming pool. You might be able to meet other mothers there.

Perhaps someone in our Coffee Club group could offer some suggestions.

Right now, it's the end of summer and everyone is very busy. I'm expecting more participation here when school starts, and especially when the weather turns colder.

Sorry I can't offer any specific advice.

Maybe we should start a Moms and Toddlers group here.

All the best,

JD
Good morning, Kerri.

I talked to some of my friends and they said to tell you that the playground next to the swimming pool and wellness center in Murphy is a good place to meet other moms and children.

The Murphy Library has a story time for kids every week and I'm not sure of the time, but I think it is 10:00 am on Mondays.

The Andrews swimming pool is free on Wednesdays and they have a good kids pool.

The library is a good place to get info about activities for kids.

All the best,

JD
