Thank you John! It`s hard to tell in the pictures, but for perspective, Snoopy is about 2 feet tall, 2 feet long, and one foot wide. The tree faces are about 4 feet tall. The giant mushrooms are 2 1/2 feet in diameter, and 2 1/2 feet tall. The car bodies are 6 feet long, 3 feet wide and 2 feet tall.

Jim and Debbi, I looked at your project photos after you left and loved Snoopy on your roof. Now, I see what you mean about decorating the trees. That's cool.

Here's a link to the projects photos on Debbie's Facebook page.

All the best,

JD

I do a little sketching, and painting. But Debbie & I both enjoy working with fiberglass. We start by making a "plug", or model of what we want to make. We use big blocks of styrofoam, wood, or cardboard, to create the model. Then we wax it, apply mold release agent, then cover it with gelcoat, and fiberglass cloth & resin. Then, the mold has to be cut off in sections. This process destroys the model, so we only get one chance to make the mold! Once it is cut off, we make flanges on the edges, so the mold can be bolted together.
For example, the car bodies are a 5 piece mold, the 2 sides, front, back, and top. It all bolts together, then we fiberglass it. When it dries, we un-bolt the mold, peel it off, and we get a one piece car body.
We usually make one piece to keep, that can be used to make new molds when the original one breaks down after a while.
Have a look at some of our stuff on Debbie`s facebook page under albums, our projects...

Good morning, artists and crafters.

I just wanted to take a moment to let you know that Elizabeth Mason has started a new Local Crafters group here on Murphy Connections and I thought I'd invite you to join the group and participate in whatever fashion suits you. This is a great time of year to be posting photos and information about your arts and crafts.

All the best,

JD

Good afternoon, Ron.

It's good to hear from you, again.

Do you have any photos of your stained glass you'd like to share?

All the best,

JD

Hey JD,

Long time no see or hear! I've been busy between here and Florida. I do stained glass or try to anyway.
