I agree. I think the Cherokee County Historical Museum is an underappreciated part of our community. Happy to hear you enjoyed visiting it.

WOW! We took our first trip to the Cherokee County Historical Museum this past weekend.....AMAZING collection of artifacts, and a well laid out presentation detailing the events of the County during that period. We only had a little time, but we plan to go back there on our next visit for a closer look.

The trail of tears tore lots of native families apart. Sad but true.

Good morning.

I know that some people consider it to be politically incorrect to use the term "Indian" and that the preferred term is "Native American." I just don't agree with this idea.

Yes, it's obvious that the Cherokee who settled this land thousands of years ago are not from India. I'll stipulate to that.

I just don't find it to be derogatory or show any lack of respect.

If you take offense, I apologize in advance.
