Permalink Reply by Paralee Dawson Hayward on June 2, 2011 at 2:49am I am a local author and self-publisher. I have written two Outdoor Adventure Books. My first book is titled Living a Dream and the second edition is titled Still Living a Dream.
Both books chronicle my hike as I put one foot in front of the other, day-after-day. You can share the mental and physical challenges I experienced as I would hike continually, without any contact with civilization, for days or months at a time. I always tried to look at my hike as a walk in the woods-the miles just happened.
I had a dream! I believed in myself, I said yes to life and met the challenges of hiking the Appalachian Trail. I hope my book motivates eveyone that reads it to do what you love, it will make your soul rich. When your doing what you love, it feels as if you're flying. Don't dream your life, live your dreams.

I used to love hiking. Around every curve and over every hill or mountain was the possibility for new beauty, surprises, and adventure. I enjoyed meeting people along the trails, seeing the wildlife, and appreciating the beauty of nature that surrounded me.
And, I loved the quiet -- quiet that was filled, not with the sounds of cars and technology, but with birds, insects, thunder, and the wind sighing through the trees. Sometimes, when it lasted too long, rain could be a bother, but I also enjoyed those quick afternoon storms that left water dripping off thousands of leaves all around me.
I did not enjoy the blisters on my heels or the aches and pains some days.
My motto is "Act on Your Dream!" and I'm slowly building a website about that. I got sidetracked for a couple of years while cancer tried to kill me, but we're kicking its butt and I'm getting back on track with my writing and marketing business.
I love meeting people with a dream. Some people merely daydream and accomplish little more than a temporary escape from their day to day life. Others accept the challenge, and strive to overcome the obstacles. For some, their dream comes true.
Even when we don't attain our final goal, the very act of living our dream can be a life-changing adventure.
I believe that it's a process that involves identifying the dream, considering the pros and cons, making a plan, and then acting on that plan. In many cases, we can make significant progress towards living our dream in as little as a year from now.
I'd love to interview you and publish it on that site.
