Exciting news! The 3rd edition of my book "Living a Dream" is finally available. Due to popular demand I have reverted back to the original title and cover design. I agree, I missed the original look. Check it out at www.outdoorhikerbooks.com

Hi friends,

If any of you have written a great book that fits our genres, we'll plug you for free! See the details on my blog at: http://tastyterror.blogspot.com/2011/09/showcase-submissions-from-a...

Hi Kerri,

You may want to check out NetWest Mountain Writers and Poets. They have a blog at:

http://netwestwriters.blogspot.com/

There are regular readings at both TCCC and John C. Campbell Folk School.

Schedules and contact info is in the right column of their blog.

Hope that helps.

Greetings fellow writers. Being a mom of an active toddler takes up most of my time, but any spare moment I find I try to devote to writing. I am extremely varied in my interests, ranging from essays to poems to fiction. I plan to take a course in journalism in order to expand my efforts into this genre, and ease myself into getting publishing credits.
Do any of you attend readings or critique groups in the area? If so what are they like and when/where are they held?

Welcome Kathleen... sometimes life gets in the way. But, if it's important to you or you really enjoy it... don't give up. Find the time when you can!

I like to write but can't seem to find the time lately. It has taken a back burner to everyday life. I Think you've got a great idea John! Run with it.

Thank you for allowing me to settle into this group. I am a newbie in the writing field. I have just completed a book for children about the animals here on our farm. A friend is doing the illustrations for the book and when I can get in finalized, I will let you know. The title of the book is: The Animals of Martindale Farm

Hi Michael.

So, that's why they call it fiction! (grin)

It's called "creative writing" John.... hehehe... pattern him after you... if you WERE a studly young local. LOL!

Good morning, Michael.

I like that: "a perilous event in the life of a studly young local."

But...

If I pattern him after myself (other than being clueless), I'm not sure anyone will finish even the first chapter!

(grin)
