I enjoy the breakfast buffet at Hometown Diner. In fact, I'll be eating there Thursday morning with another member of Murphy Connections.

I don't know what I was thinking. I forgot all about the Friday night buffet at Hometown Diner. If you love good old homestyle cooking, you'll love this buffet. I've never been disappointed with anything I've eaten there. Vickie and her staff work hard to prepare meals from fresh meats and vegetables.

When I was coming home yesterday from the breakfast buffet at Hometown Diner (excellent, by the way), I noticed a banner advertising a buffet lunch at the Italian restaurant that is located on the four-lane about 4 or 5 miles west of Murphy. (I don't know the name of the restaurant and I've never eaten there.) I don't know if that was a special deal or if they're doing it regularly.

I forgot to mention that the Chinese restaurant in the strip mall next to Burger King has a lunch buffet. It's been awhile since I ate there, so I'm assuming they still do it. The last couple of times I ate there (last year), the food was very good and the price was excellent.

It's not a buffet, but Shoebooties Cafe has all you can eat crab legs on Thursday nights. I love eating at Shoebooties Cafe whenever I can.

Brothers Restaurant has an all you can eat lunch buffet, and the food is very good.

 

I just learned about it last week (mid-January, 2011).

 

Brothers has moved from their former location in the Ranger community west of Murphy, to a new location in the shopping center next to Burger King (across the four-lane from Wal-Mart).

 

In all the years I've lived here, I never ate at Brothers Restaurant for some reason. Now that I've tasted their food, I'll be eating there regularly in the future.

 

Not only is the food in the buffet very good, the price is reasonable and the staff is friendly. That's a great combination.
