Great stuff here.  Nice pic of the UFO... I have a similar one, on a day we were throwing Frisbee and it looks like two of them were in the sky.  It's always shocking to see them in photos.... being unaware at the time.  Thanks for the MUFON info.  I've had some experiences in the area, and some photos and EVPs, but I've changed a lot since I first worked on capturing evidence.  First, my position was of disbelief, skeptical, but wanting a thrill, so hopeful I would find something... Then to my surprise I believe I did have real 'experiences' and perhaps 'really did' capture evidence.  I was for the most part convinced, a bit obsessed even.  I decided the 'energies' that can be detected, are likely 'stuck' or 'confused' or 'negative' human remnants or demonic  or 'angelic', 'natural' or 'alien' interactions.  My approach to study these have been less specific and more philosophical of late through prayers and meditation to block or repel those which can possibly affect me negatively and welcome the guidance of loving beings aside from my deep devotion to God (which for me is the Trinity Godhead, God, Jesus, Holy Spirit) as a Christian.  I do like the Native American stories, and their knowledge of nature, which include nature 'spirits' which can also be fair, cursed, neutral or mischievous.  I don't 'Ghost Hunt' any more for the reason, I wouldn't want to attach myself by accident to any negative energy, but I am interested more in energy 'vortex's in the area where prayer and dreaming is more intense and visions are experienced, or felt stronger than usual... I know of a couple of these.  One is near Brasstown Bald... the other is atop the mountain across from Park Beach on 64 - not sure if it's still in NC or TN... but you can pull off to camp from the Forest Service road.  There's a campground up there, which is also nice, but where I am speaking of is on the road that goes beyond the campground.  There are several pull offs... one in particular is a carved out area.  Although, I don't 'hunt' I am still interested in where h'ants are hanging about in the region... my primary reason for joining this group.  And I do have a lot of prayers of protection, and book resources I may know of, for use by others, if interested.  Armor of God is one, by Dave Juliano which includes  many prayers by Christian, Catholic, Celtic, Norse and Pagan researchers... I have found it to be a powerful prayer tool.  Good luck all.

These were taken Friday 10-22-10 at appx 3.30PM at thye Dillard House in GA. A friend was staying with us and she took the pictures. She was actually taking pictures of the mountains and Fall colors and didn't see/notice anything unusual until we downloaded the pictures to my pc from her camera. I have turned in a report to MUFON. It did make the hair on my arms stand up when I first saw the pictures. I will wait for MUFON's take on this. I did Google 'UFO Sightings' and saw some similar pictures and videos from different places around the world. I just wanted to share this all of you in the group.

Good luck with your search. If you find something interesting, I'd love to hear it. Wish I could remember more of what I heard all those years ago.

I do remember that most of the people talking about it said the experience wasn't pleasant, but I don't remember why.

Thanks...I can't wait to be back in the area! There is some info online about the Nunnehi, and I know that Blood Mountain over in GA is a big area for stories, supposedly one of their large 'forts' was on that mountain. Hopefully I will meet lots of people. Have a good one!

Hi Caro.

I don't know anyone in the Murphy area who knows about the Little People, but I spent some time in Cherokee in the early 1970s and met several people who said they had seen the Little People when they were younger.

These were first-person stories from people who had the experience, not the retelling of stories about something they heard from someone else.

I wish I could remember the stories they told. We sat around a campfire for most of the night talking and I even recorded it on cassette tape, but I lost those tapes years ago.

Good luck in your search for stories and hopefully you'll meet people who can help you with this.

All the best,

JD

I am interested in old local stories of hauntings and especially any tales to do with the Little People that they Cherokees called the Nunnehi. I have found some local place names that are actually based on Cherokee words...Shooting Creek (my neck of the woods) means place where the water makes popping noises like gunfire. Chunky Gal Mountain is a bastardization of an Indian word meaning place where they play ballgames. If you remember Mayan Lore, ballgames were not really lucky things to be involved in, being played with human heads for balls and shinbones for mallets. I will be getting land some time in the Fall, and moving up there in about 5 years. I will be doing lots of studying. A family member of mine got caught out on the mountain after she left her boyfriends car after an argument one night. She walked the mountain between Buck Creek Rd. and Laurel Gap Rd. She says she followed the little lights and stayed on the path. Now, staying on the path can be rough in the daylight, with springs making muddy areas and old rotted chestnut stumps that you could fall into and never get out. I don't know how she did it, but she managed to cross that wild mountain at night, til she came to someone's house where she could call her Mama.

Good morning.

I just found an article about a book called Volume 2 of Appalachian Case Study: UFO Sightings, Alien Encounters & Unexplained Phenomena. I thought someone here might be interested in it. I don't know anything about it other than what I read in the article.

All the best,

JD

I too believe in this phenomanon. My house is said to be haunted and to be honest when we first moved in 7 years ago I felt strange surroundings and would see things out the corner of my eye. I would even get breezes when there were no windows or doors opened. Sometimes even perfumed odors. I used to tell my husband that someone else lived here besides us.
