Tell us something about yourself...
I am currently living in Charlotte NC. I dislike the densification, social-climbing ethos, and the architectural vulgarity. I have lived in cities my entire life, and from Ur onward, city living has been awash in blood and tears.

I will be retiring in four years even if I have to live in a tent. I will have enough to supplement the meager SS, and buy a house under 60K.

After years of searching for areas to retire to, yesterday I stumbled across the Murphy area. I found several houses that would meet my budget, architectural aesthetics, and environmental considerations.

My only question is whether I should wait the four years with the hope of finding a house then, or whether I should buy a house I like that is currently on the market. Advice is welcome.

Good morning, Allan.

I don't know the answer to your question about buying real estate, so this morning I started a discussion about it on our Real Estate group. Maybe some of the professionals there will have some good advice.

All the best,

JD

Good afternoon, Allan.

Welcome to our friendly little online community for folks interested in Murphy, NC.

As to whether or not you should buy now or wait four years, I don't know if I can help you. Prices are quite a bit lower now than they were four years ago, and who knows what will happen over the next four years.

If there is anything I can do to help you get more from Murphy Connections, please let me know.

All the best,

JD
