Tell us something about yourself...: I would like to access your site, as we visit family at least once per year in your area. We frequently shop in Murphy and contribute to its economy. I wish to learn more about the area in order to use the shopping and recreation opportunities to the fullest. I read your post about folks wanting to sign up, but only entering their names. I am speculating that it is because of the personal nature of the above questions and the fact that no questions are marked "mandatory" as on other sites (e.g., denoted with an asterisk". I would like to join to see what the site has to offer, but I don't want to share with you or post on your site personal information such as marital status, information about children/family relationships, especially given that I haven't been given access to the site yet and don't yet know how I will use it or to what extent. In the age of identity theft and phishing scams, I don't feel these questions are particularly appropriate or necessary, especially in the "sign up" screen (most sites have these under the "update your profile" section after signing up. Perhaps you could make a mandatory text box question such as "why are you interested in our site" or "what do you hope to gain from our site" in order to avoid spammers.
