- It looks like I was wrong about the rain knocking all the leaves off the trees. There are still quite a few left and when the sun comes back out, there should still be some beautiful trees to look at.
What the storm did, however, was knock out our electricity and Internet access. Blue Ridge Mountain EMC restored the power in a few hours, but I'm still without access to the Internet.
I don't know how long it will be before I'll be back online.
I'm enjoying a great breakfast at Hometown Diner and using their free wifi to catch up on some of the things I manage on the Internet.

- There are still lots of green leaves, so the rain might not get all of them. We may have a few more days of good color. I went for a drive this afternoon and the mountains are beautiful today.
I think there's something to enjoy in our area with every season.

I think today may be the peak day for the leaves. The rain tonight will knock most of them off.
I love the Fall Festival. I'm editing some video I shot there this morning and hope to get it online by tomorrow or Tuesday.
There's lots going on at the Folk School most of the time. Free dances most Tuesday evenings and free concerts (donations accepted) most Friday evenings.
And, of course, all the great courses they teach there.

Yes, I agree. The people around Murphy are special. Most of them are very friendly.
The colors in the fall are amazing and it won't be much longer before the leaves put on their annual show.
I'm not sure if there is a whole lot of difference between Saturday and Sunday at the Fall Festival. Maybe who is performing might make a difference for you. I'm planning on being there most of the day Sunday. I haven't heard for sure, but "Irons in the Fire" usually performs on Sunday and I love listening to them.
I'll be volunteering at the Craft Shop from 9 until 11:30 Sunday Morning and then I'll spend most of the rest of the day around the festival barn. Maybe I'll see you there.
