Retirement with a Plan?

After many moons, I recently made the reluctant - yet somewhat optimistic decision to stick my toe back into the online income pool. The concept behind One24 was the only reason I chose to do that.  And what a breath of fresh air - after years in the predictably frustrating world of so-called home based businesses.  Finally, a level playing field with no hoops to jump through. What is One24? One24 is the brainchild of Mark Seyforth, who helped to launch Herbalife back in 1980. I must be tired. Forgot to mention my NEW book... something really different from what I usually write.

Available in print or ebook, details at on my site, just click here for more.

Brace yourself... there's a chance of scattered teardrops.

Away too long

Back in late 2009, I released a novel entitled "JUICE."

More recently, after much editing and fine tuning, that novel was re-released. Why mention it? Well... in addition to some shameless self promotion... I wanted to remind everyone that JUICE takes place in Murphy! And even though I moved away in 2010... I still love Murphy and always will.

Based on real locations and people, over 97% of my readers have asked for a sequel (in the works). JUICE…

Amazing how many people are fascinated by that name. They have to take "proof" back to their friends in Florida.

Good morning, Michael.

I've been offline for a couple of days and this is the first time I've had a chance to tell you what I saw a couple of days ago.

I was driving up Joe Brown Hwy from Grape Creek to Murphy, and when I passed by Hanging Dog road, there were a couple of people taking turns of getting photos under the Hanging Dog road sign.

I wonder if you had anything to do with that. (grin)

All the best,

JD

Good morning, Michael.

It's always great seeing local businesses supporting local authors.

Yes, I read on your blog that Star Trek was a big influence on you.

I was working as a laborer paving roads and pouring concrete sidewalks when I was first exposed to Star Trek. I decided that learning how to use computers would put me in an air-conditioned office that would be cool in the summer and warm in the winter, so I taught myself how to program them. I learned to do in real life what Mr. Spock only pretended to do. (grin)

It made a huge difference in my life and is indirectly responsible for me being here in Murphy. In 1984, Pop was having health problems and I got a job teaching programming at TCCC. As a result, I moved from Arizona to here and I've been here ever since (except for a year or two in Asheville).

I don't think I would have put so much effort into learning computers as I did had I not been inspired by Gene Roddenberry and his vision of a great future.

Best wishes for success with your book.

Good afternoon, Michael.

Welcome to our friendly little online community for people interested in Murphy, NC.

I've been reading the excerpts from your book on your blog. It looks interesting. That's good news about the first shipment of your books coming to town this week. Which bookstores in Murphy will be carrying it?

I hope your book becomes very popular and sells a bunch.

From one Trekkie to another, live long and prosper.

If there is anything I can do to help you get more from Murphy Connections, please let me know.

All the best,

JD
