Murphy NC 28906 - A growing community with small town charm

Wow, how time flies when you are or are not having fun!! The latest news is we just might have a buyer by next weekend. There is a young couple from a neighboring state that is really really interested. In fact they are going to their financial advisor on Monday and they are planning to visit us on the weekend and stay with us on the farm to discuss the sale.

We are so excited and all we can think to say about it at this time is "It's About Time". We have had this property on the market for 3 years now and have been very patient, now that patience is wearing very thin. I want to be HOME before Christmas.

We do have to get some ideas about boarding our dogs until we get a place to call home, so if anyone has any ideas, it would be of great help if you could let me know. We have two white Alsatians (Shepherds), they are father and daughter. Sandy is male, but does not play well with other males, I guess it is that male dominance thing, he even has a coniption around our male cat, Bob, who loves to be on my lap no matter where I am in the house. Katie on the other hand is sometimes just too friendly. She loves people, friendly dogs and attention.

This is a picture I took of them while they were playing and it looks like they are having a blast and I always tell people this is how excited they get when I tell them they are moving to America.

We have all their papers up to date, their shots, etc. They are micro-chiped and have been since babies. Sandy unfortunately now has developed arthritis and walks with a heavy limp, but he is still very active and loves the outdoors. He actually skips when he tries to run. We take them for walks almost every Sunday afternoon and they LOVE it. So if anybody reading this can help us by letting us know where we might be able to kennel them for a little while I would be most grateful if you would let me know. We will have to make arrangements for their transport from the airport to their boarding, but these are things that are going to take some thought and time as well.

This is the couple that is planning to purchase our farm:

We are really excited. He, Riaan is an artist/musician and his wife is a doctor of phsychiatry. Very pleasant couple as far as chatting on the phone, and we will get to meet them in person on Friday. They are expecting their first child in March. This move is all exciting for them as well.

Mike & I are just so over the moon, we cannot wait to be on that airplane and waving bye-bye to South Africa and kissing the ground upon arrival back in the USA. It looks like maybe the real work will start to take shape in finding a place to live, getting our dogs sorted and taking care of business all at the same time. I hope that it is not going to be too stressful, so only time will tell.

Well I believe that is enough for now, so please let me hear from anyone who can help us out with dog boarding.
