Murphy NC 28906 - A growing community with small town charm
Boone is nice but It's no Murphy!
Well we started another log home restoration after finishing up in Murphy. I was so surprised after being here in June of the amount of traffic! In June there was no traffic to speak of, pretty typical. But now! It is crazy people. They are working on 421 to make it four lane and it is actually bumper to bumper, stop and go all around the major insection of 421 and 321. On top of that the college is in session. And I have noticed sitting at a stop light, I think every student is behind the wheel "texting." You can see their little fingers just "pecking" away. Everybody is in a hurry! Fender benders are not uncommen. It's run, run, run! We are staying in a motel in town and drive through this morning and night to get to the job which is waaaaay out in the country. Nice little town but big city traffic!. Well that may be streaching a bit but.....it's no Murphy!!!!
You "local yocals" and , I say that in a nice way,....John..... are blessed with a much more laid back, easy going small town way.

I hope you're not going to be one of those involved in a fender bender while you're there. Be careful.
You are absolutely right, those of us who live in Murphy are blessed with our laid back lifestyle, slower pace, and easy-going people.
I'm looking forward to seeing you again the next time you're in Murphy.
