Murphy NC 28906 - A growing community with small town charm

I'm enrolled in a photography class and never thought I liked taking landscape pictures. Well, last week the assignment was none other than landscape pictures and I discovered I kind of like it. It gives you a whole new way of looking at the world. To think that a portion of this big beautiful world can be contained in the lense of a camera and duplicated for everyone to see is nothing short of amazing to me. Anyway - enough about all of that - I want to share some of this beauty with everyone else!

I think I'll title these next 2 "When the Fish Aren't Biting" . These were taken by my husband on Hiwassee Lake in Murphy, NC - Hiwassee Dam Community - February, 2009. It's amazing - he took these with his cell phone!

Dena,

Those are great photos. Thanks for sharing them with us.

Act on your dream!

PS. When adding tags on a Ning community, multiple word phrases need to be enclosed in quotation marks, as in "lake hiwassee", if you want that to be the tag. Two separate tags works, too.

I do ... Actually we heard of a daffodil field that we're going to check out sometime this week. I also have some shots of Amicalola Falls. It's about a 45 minute drive from Murphy and is located in Georgia but it's well worth the drive just to see the falls. They are gorgeous. I'll try to get some more landscapes uploaded but it will be a few days (we're working on an event from Saturday and they have to uploaded to the proof site by this afternoon - I have my work cut out for me!) I'll look forward to hearing from you and possibly meeting you and your husband when you get relocated.

Good morning, Courtnie.

Did you make any photos in that field of daffodils?

Nope - we never did get to go - With everybody in the house sick it was hard to get coordinated enough to go!

Good morning, Dena.

I know what you mean. I feel like I lost two weeks in March from being sick and then getting this eye infection. I'm feeling much better now, and trying to get back to work. I hope all of you are feeling better.

Act on your dream!
