Murphy NC 28906 - A growing community with small town charm

I must say that yesterday was such a disturbing day for me with Farrah dying and then the sudden death of Micheal Jackson. It makes you sit up and take notice of how short life really is. I say no matter what live life as if it's your last day on earth and do what makes you happy. It's amazing how fast the years fly by. One day my children were lying on my stomach in a hospital room after being taken from my womb and the next moment they are grown adults with children of their own. Sometimes I think about the time I have left on this beautiful earth and I almost cry. My family members never lived that long.............my mother died at the age of 76 and I am already 61......to be 62 in 20 days. That's right around the corner. So, I am making sure my last 10 years here on earth are spent happy........................and hopefully in Murphy soon............... carol

That's good advice, Carol. Life is too short to spend more than you have to doing things you don't enjoy. Always enjoy family and friends when you can, none of us will be here forever. Act on your dream! JD

I have to say so far I have pretty much done what I've wanted to accomplish in my life except take a trip to Italy and of course move to Murphy. Flying to Italy will most likely not happen because I am in fear of leaving this country. I did take a trip to Paris in 1985 after divorcing my ex and I considered it a divorce present to myself along with my new mustang convertible. Since then I've had a good life and have a wonderful husband now. And John, you are right about one thing..........good family and good friends are so important. They help to make our dreams stay real. Now, that is not to say there are some that have to fall by the wayside. We need to keep those in our lives that build us up and don't come with negative baggage. My grandmother always told me to let go of those who pull us down and once I listened to her words my whole life changed. Life is good.

Letting go of those who pull us down is excellent advice. Your grandmother sounds like a wise woman. Sometimes it can be hard to do, but it's worth it. And, similarly, supporting those who pull us up is just as important.
