Wilderness Adventures-Update

I have always had a dream of working with children. My third child was born with Downs Syndrome and I only had him in my life for four months. For years I could not find where I fit, in this dream, but it was always nagging at me to do something with children.

The idea to start a program bringing children back to nature, came to me on one of my lonely hikes along the Trail in Virginia this year.

Things are moving so fast, my head is spinning. We finally hit the Cherokee Scout newspaper, in Murphy, North Carolina with an article introducing Wilderness Adventures. We have so many leads and are planning to roll our first event in July. We have connected with several national organizations that will allow us to partner with them and schedule events on a local level in conjunction with the national event.

Thank you everyone that offered to help, but we still need help. Our biggest need will be for interested parties and leaders of existing programs to contact us so we can partner up and together start planning some awesome outdoor events for children of all ages. You may sign up at
